Hello,  I am Megan, The Head Wanderer.

Since my high school french class, all I have ever wanted to do is be on the road. I studied abroad in both Poland and France. I was an English Teacher in Japan and Turkey. I was amazed by the complexity of India and humbled by the people of Nepal. Discovering the how and why of the world is the reason I travel.

I worked previously in the IT industry and after 10+ years finally left the safety and comfort of a steady paycheck. I have been to 49 countries and spent more then 27,000 hours abroad. I love airports (that is true!) and the hunt for a cheap flight overseas.

I started Big Fat World Tours in 2014 with a mission to bring more people to the world and give back to local non-profits making a difference. I create fun trips for cool people to faraway places. Wander on.

Hello, I am Leigh, the Happy Wanderer.

Leigh truly is the Happy Wanderer as she is most happy when she’s traveling. Her first flight began at age 2, when her mom sent her from Austin to Boston for her first flight and the rest is history. Traveling up to eight times a year, Leigh has visited 36 countries on three different continents. That’s almost a new country for each year of her life, and no, don’t ask her age. Leigh’s other career as a psychotherapist, allows her to manage stress on the road with the utmost grace, most of the time. In addition, Leigh enjoys live music, cats, cooking, crafting, running, shopping……oh well, you get the picture.
